Frequently Asked Questions

  • An adult family home is a small group living home for six to eight individuals who need 24-hour care and support. It offers a more personal setting where residents can receive one-on-one attention, individualized care, and daily support in a home-like environment.

  • Unlike a nursing home or assisted living facility, which are often larger settings with many residents and more limited one-on-one support, our home offers a small, intimate, boutique-style environment. We create a warm, home-like atmosphere where residents are truly known, cared for personally, and treated like family. We share meals, build meaningful relationships, and take time to understand each resident’s story, preferences, and needs.

  • Our approach is a combination of a beautiful, luxurious home environment with a highly professional, compassionate care team. Families can feel confident knowing their loved one is supported by experienced caregivers, including leadership with strong professional backgrounds in nursing, social work, and case management. We also bring a trauma-informed and personalized approach to care, which means we take time to understand each resident’s history, needs, and preferences. Our team, our services, and the atmosphere of our home all work together to create a truly unique and meaningful care experience.

  • Our homes are best suited for individuals who are looking for a safe, secure, and supportive place to live with 24-hour care. This may include seniors or adults who need help with medical supervision, personal care, and daily living activities. It is also a good fit for families who want their loved one to be cared for by an excellent team in a warm, home-like environment where they can receive compassionate attention and personalized support.

  •  We provide highly skilled, personalized care based on each resident’s individual needs. This includes support with daily living activities such as walking, transferring, bathing, showering, meals, and medication management. Because every person is different, we do not believe in one-size-fits-all care. We take a person-centered approach and customize care so each resident receives the support, dignity, and attention they need. If you tell us what kind of care your loved one needs, we are ready to serve and do our best to meet those needs.

  • Yes, we are trained and experienced in caring for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s. While we are not a memory care-certified facility, we are certified to provide dementia and Alzheimer’s care and are highly familiar with the support these residents need. Our team understands challenges such as sundowning and the importance of structure, patience, reassurance, and meaningful engagement. We also offer supportive approaches such as sensory experiences and animal therapy to help residents feel calm, connected, and cared for. Most importantly, our team truly enjoys working with residents with memory-related conditions and provides care with compassion, respect, and understanding.

  • Yes, we manage medications carefully and thoroughly, including support for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and other ongoing health needs. With on-site nurse delegation and supervision, we help ensure medications are ordered, delivered, and administered properly. We work closely with a local pharmacy so families can have peace of mind and not carry the full burden of managing medications on their own. Families are always welcome to be as involved as they would like, but we are here to make sure everything is handled safely and consistently.

  • Yes, we understand that care needs can change over time, and we do our best to adapt and provide the right level of support as those needs evolve. Because our care is personalized and person-centered, we regularly pay attention to each resident’s condition, routines, and overall well-being. Our goal is to provide continuity, comfort, and peace of mind for families as their loved one’s needs change.

  • Yes, our adult family home helps coordinate and manage care with home doctors, nurse delegation, hospice, home health, therapists, and other healthcare providers. We can also work with home doctors who provide monthly visits when appropriate. If you are the power of attorney, guardian, or decision-maker for your loved one, we will absolutely keep you informed and involve you as much as you would like. Our goal is to make sure everything is taken care of while giving families peace of mind that their loved one is supported.

  • Prices are based on level of care and assistance required by the resident. Prior to admission into our home, we will meet with your loved one to discuss their needs, concerns, and any special accommodations required. A daily rate will be established at that time.
